Health Promotion focuses on empowering people and communities to take control of their health and wellbeing. We offer a range of Health Promotion activities and exercise groups to support older people to remain healthy, active and to stay independent.

  • Monday

    Steady as You Go  

    A falls prevention exercise class to improve your balance, leg strength, flexibility, general fitness and wellbeing. Join the group for a Cuppa afterwards.

  • Tuesday

    Mindfulness 

    Mindfulness is the practice of deliberately bringing your attention to something in the present moment. This could be your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, or something in the surrounding environment. Practicing mindfulness, even a little bit, has been shown to help with difficult emotions like stress and improve concentration and memory.

     

    When: Weekly on Tuesdays from 11.00am

    Tea & Tech- Central Hawke’s Bay

    Come to our free Tea & Tech workshop, held in partnership with the Central Hawkes Bay District Library. Bring your digital device and get help from some friendly people. Come to Tea & Tech if you need help with:

    • Getting connected with friends and family online (Facebook, etc.)

    • Doing your grocery shopping online

    • Using email and visiting websites


    When: Last Thursday of the month from 10.00am-12.00pm.

    Where: Digital Learning Hub in Waipukurau.

    A falls prevention exercise class to improve your balance, leg strength, flexibility, general fitness and wellbeing.
